IBUPROFEN
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce fever and relieve pain

200 mg
Uses
▼
Mild to moderate pain
Painful menstruation
Headache
Acute migraine attack
Pain in children
Pain due to rheumatic disease
Muscle and joint pain
Fever
Dose and Duration
▼
All uses
Adult:
200–400 mg every 6–8 hours
Child 8–12 years:
200 mg every 6–8 hours
Child 3–7 years:
100 mg every 6–8 hours
Child 1–2 years:
50 mg every 6–8 hours
Child 3 months–1 year:
20–40 mg/kg daily in divided doses
Taken when necessary. Avoid prolonged use
Contraindications

Active peptic ulcer disease
Children <3 months and <7 kg
Allergy to NSAIDs
Asthma
Rhinitis
Angioedema
Blood coagulation disorders
Severe liver disease
Severe kidney disease
Heart failure
Severe malnutrition
Uncorrected dehydration
Shock
Severe infection

Methotrexate (increased risk of methotrexate toxicity)
Other NSAIDs (increased risk of side effects)
