Uses

  • Skin disinfection (all wounds, herpes simplex lesions, herpes zoster lesions )
  • Inflammation of the gums

Dose and Duration

Skin disinfection and cleaning wounds
Apply to affected area 3 times daily for up to 3 weeks
Inflammation of the gums
Gargle with mouth wash 3 times daily

Preparation

  • Prepare mouth wash by adding 15 ml of hydrogen peroxide solution to 200 ml water

Side Effects

  • Local irritation
  • Bleach clothes

Interactions

  • Povidone-iodine (cancelled effect)
  • Chlorhexidine (cancelled effect)

Patient Instructions

  • Avoid contact with healthy skin or eyes
  • Can bleach clothes
  • Mouthwash is not a replacement for effective brushing

  • Can be used

⚠️ Caution

  • Concentrated solutions are dangerous. Avoid direct con tact with skin or mucous membranes.
  • Never mix a leftover solution with a fresh solution
  • Prepare small amounts at a time to prevent wastage
  • Mark on the bottle of diluted solution the name of product, date of preparation, and date of expiry
