Dose and Duration

All indications
One 3.6 mg capsule injected subcutaneously into the anterior abdominal wall every 28 days.
Endometriosis
Use for 6 months.
Endometrial thinning
Give for 4−8 months.

Contraindications

  • Children
  • Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
  • Hypersensitivity to goserelin

Side Effects

  • Pain, hematoma, haemorrhage at injection site
  • Ureteric obstruction in men
  • Spinal cord compression in men
  • Depression, mood changes
  • Impaired glucose tolerance, weight gain
  • Decreased libido, erectile dysfunction
  • Paraesthesia
  • Cardiac and myocardial infarction
  • Hot flush
  • Rash
  • Alopecia, gynaecomastia
  • Bone pain

Interactions

  • Antiarrhytmic medicines (increased risk of QT interval prolongation)

Pregnancy

  • Do not use

Breast-feeding

  • Do not use
