  • Haemophilia A

Dose and Duration

Given intravenously at a rate no more than 10 ml/minute
Prophylaxis
Adult and child: 20–40 IU/kg at intervals of 2–3 days. Child may require higher doses or shorter dosage intervals
Control of haemorrhage
Administer according to patient’s needs

Side Effects

  • Allergic reactions, anaphylaxis

Patient Instructions

  • In case symptoms of anaphylaxis such as hives, urticaria, wheezing, hypotension, tightness of chest develop, discontinue the medication immediately and contact your doctor

⚠️ Caution

  • In patients with blood groups A, B or AB, patient may develop intravascular haemolysis if given large or frequently repeated doses (less likely with high potent concentrates)
  • Monitor for development of factor VIII inhibitors especially in the first 20 days of exposure; perform an assay if expected factor VIII activity levels are not attained or bleeding is not controlled
  • Do not mix with other medicinal products and only use the provided infusion set
