Penicillin antibacterial with good activity against Gram positive
bacteria for example Staphylococcus aureus. It is not inactivated by
penicillinases produced by S. Aureus.

Dose and Duration

Severe bacterial infections (in combination with gentamicin)
Adult:1–2 g IV every 4–6 hours for 2–3 weeks
Child > 2 years: 50 mg/kg every 4–6 hours
Child < 2 years: 25 mg/kg every 4–6 hours
Boils, infected skin wounds
Adult:500 mg PO every 6 hours for 5–10 days
child:125‒250 mg every 6 hours for 5–10 days

Penicillin allergy
Cephalosporin allergy (cross-sensitivity may occur)
