Dose and Duration
Severe P. falciparum malaria and initial treatment of
uncomplicated malaria
Adult and child >6 months: Loading dose of 3.2
mg/kg by IM injection on first day followed by 1.6 mg/kg once
daily for 3 days
As soon as patient can take orally, change to oral route and give a 3-day course of first line ACT
